Just as I poke fun on air at Kobe Bryant and his arrogance on and off the court during the Way Off Base Sports Show this past Saturday, I get slapped with this gracious Yahoo Sports Monday afternoon headline:
Ref tells Kobe Bryant to ‘Make the shot’
Y’all know this gave me life right….
Apparently, NBA Referee Eli Roe is as tired as I am of Kobe running his mouth when he doesn’t get his way. During the Lakers/OKC game, Kobe complained constantly about getting fouled and not having those fouls called. Ref Roe’s response to one of his many on court rants during the game, Make the Shot You little Cry Baby!
Well, maybe he didn’t say all of that. But he did let Kobe know that his whining was not going to get him anywhere. As usual, Kobe continued to shoot his way to a Laker win.

With only 3 days left in the U.S’s celebration of black history month, we finally get some much-needed history made against Charlie Sheen. The drunken stupors that he’s been involved in lately have finally gotten his million dollar hit tv show shut down!
As I shared my views on how Charlie Sheen seems to get a favorable media pass compared to the darker hue Tiger Woods in my Charlie VS Tiger’s posting earlier in the month, Charlie’s producers finally has gotten tired of his rants and have shut down production of his CBS show Two and A Half Men.
But, why did it take him talking about the producers’ family to shut down production, though?
Earlier in the week, the
drunk sober Sheen called into a radio show and expressed his less than favorable views about the Two and A Half Men creator. To add insult to injury, he also talked about the ugliness of the producers’ spouses and children. Charlie reportedly told the radio host that he is tired of the lies that the producers were sharing in the media about his ability to produce for them on air. He went on to say that “They lie down with their ugly wives in front of their ugly children, and then they look at me and say, ‘I can’t process it’.”
Well, now if this aint bout a BISH!!!! All of the craziness that Charlie has done in over 20 years of being in the public eye and he finally gets his largest infraction as a result of his transgressions because he talked about somebody’s boo and kids.
I can’t with the one-sided punishments that plague our celebrity society. *shuts down laptop*
Let me end this now before y’all see the ugly side of Diva Dee!
Feel free to drop me a few lines and let me know your thoughts on this one. I welcome all comments. 🙂

Since we were fortunate enough to enjoy NBA All-Star Weekend and all of the wonderful antics it offered us, I couldn’t help but dedicate this week’s sports wrap up to the foolishness that caught my eye. Some of it was good foolishness but some…yeah…not so much!
Hang out with me as I give shotouts to some of the moments that grabbed my attention.
Shot Out to Kobe Bryant: Congrats on winning your 4th NBA ALL-Star MVP. But a quick reminder, your talents on the court don’t take away from your snitchiness off the court! Diva Dee still don’t do you! 😉
Shot Out to LA Clippers Blake Griffin: You showed us how to do a great Peter Pan Flight NBA Style! You definitely deserved the NBA slam dunk championship sir! Great job leaping over that Kia but next time leave the choir at home!
Shot Out to the NBA: Thanks so much for adding coaches to the NBA slam Dunk contest and giving the fans the extra intro effect of the dunk contestants (insert sarcastic grin here). I mean FOR REAL…That really was un-dayum-necessary! Please don’t do that again!
Shot Out to Rihanna: Ma’am, the fans could have done without you gyrating your uterus all across the NBA Halftime show stage! Please take a Monistat Pill and change into some baggy sweat pants to kill that yeast infection you created last Sunday!
Shot Out to Darryl Dawkins: We appreciate you for modeling the Big And Tall Korean men suit collection (yes, that’s more sarcasm people). Sir, Please call Deion Sanders for a wardrobe consultant next time you go out to a public event!
Hang around and check out some of the great highlight reels from the NBA All-Star Weekend 2011!
Going through life with siblings, you’ve all at one time or another aggravated the living patience out of your parents by torturing your brother or sister. Were you ever confined to a closet or dog cage for these childhood incidents? Well, guess what…Ms. Chelsea was!
The 21-year-old known simply as Chelsea shared her horrible story of living life in a cage when she was 7. When I initially saw this preview on Oprah earlier this week, my mouth fell open and has yet to close after reading further into the gory details!
So here’s the scenario:
- Chelsea was abused and tortured by her biological parents and forced to live in a dog cage.
- One of her 4 brothers walked barefoot in the Wisconsin wintry conditions to the police station and reported the child abuse incident.
- Chelsea and her siblings were placed in foster care.
- Her parents were sentenced to a year jail term for the abuse.
*drops mouse and punches computer screen*
What in THEEEE HELL! So, you mean to tell me that Chelsea’s biological parents were only given a year jail sentence for this despicable crime? How does this happen in our judicial system? Whether it was 14 years or 14 days ago, there is no reason that these parents should have only received a year prison term.
I hope the judge sentenced them to a year in a dog cage!
Being a loving parent and nurturer, I know that I will never understand the mindset that takes over abusive parents. But what truly disturbs me most about this story, is the judge who ruled on this case was allowed to sit on the bench and make further judicial decisions. Where’s Judge Judy when you need her!
Based on Chelsea’s Oprah Interview, it seems that she has moved on in a positive direction from her childhood experiences. She is also trying to be a normal loving parent to her own child as well. I wish her well in continuing to fulfill her adulthood with greater memories than her childhood.

Unfortunately, this news will not deter a lot of folks from talking into unfamiliar mics or dipping in unsanitary cookie jars. I just hope that none of my Diva Dee readers are into multiple microphone checks or licking around a lot of community cookie jars in a 24-hour period. I would hate to be the first one to tell you, I told you so!

Imagine being born to a legendary NFL quarterback and given his name all the while following in his footsteps as a youngster and mastering the quarterback skills that were naturally given to you. Not to mention you are chosen to lead your father’s alma mater at the quarterback position during your collegiate football career. To add more excitement to your life, you find out your legendary father will be your mentor and coach in your first year as quarterback. Can’t get any better than that, right? Well, we shall see for Mr. Doug Williams, Jr.!
Doug Williams, Sr. has decided to return to Grambling University for a 2nd time and take on the head coaching position to help mentor his son and the rest of the Grambling football team. Following in the footsteps of his historical mentor, the late Mr. Eddie Robinson, Doug Williams will be only the 2nd coach behind Mr. Robinson to coach his own son at the QB position.
In my opinion, Doug Williams was the Jackie Robinson of the NFL and paved the road for black quarterbacks to be successful professional athletes. Being a 1978 1st round draft pick for the Tampa Baby Bucs he led my FAVORITE NFL team to the playoffs 3 times within his 4 seasons. While playing with the Redskins, he was named the Super Bowl XXII MVP. I hope Mr. DJ is ready to slide in to such a large pair of shoes!
I am so very proud of the 55-year-old former NFL player and happy that he has the opportunity to help mold his son into the same great football player that he once was. I wish him, Grambling and his son all the best!
