While some NFL players are getting stabbed by their spouses, getting arrested for pistol-whipping their future brother-in-law and making it rain in a local strip club, Ted Larsen, Tampa Bay Buccaneer offensive lineman, has decided to use his time wisely and rescue three teens in the Gulf of Mexico.
While relaxing and fishing with his boo, Ted overheard a Coast Guard distress call from a kayaker in close proximity of his fishing boat. Deciding not to wait for them, he helped the teenage kayakers and became a hero! Shot out to Ted Larsen for bringing some positive NFL player news during this lockout! I’m glad that he was in position to save three lives while risking his own!
Finally Mr. and Mrs. Taub have been granted a stay of execution oops I mean a divorce. After building a wall in their house because they both refused to move, the judge has finally ruled that they deserve to be relieved of their marital bliss! Filing for a divorce in 2005, Simon and Chauna Taub’s request for divorce was rejected because neither one would admit they were at fault. At the time, the New York court required that a spouse must admit wrongdoings in order to be granted a divorce.
Well duh!!! How many people you know will admit to being at fault and causing their marriage to fail? I’m glad New York has changed their laws to allow for better judgements like this for the future. But, I hope Mr. Taub isn’t out popping champagne bottles just yet. It looks like his soon-to-be-ex plans to appeal the sell of their properties. Good Luck with that one Simon!
I’m sure most of you have heard the old saying that sex is the best way to burn calories, right? Just nod and agree with Dee on this one. Imagine heading to your weight loss clinic and having your doctor attempt to turn this myth into a reality.
Last week, a Philadelphia doctor was arrested for doing just that. As reported on PhillyBurbs.com, Dr. Arie Oren is accused of touching a half-dozen women during their weight loss sessions in a way that was “inappropriate,” “unprofessional” and “creepy,” according to county District Attorney Risa Vetri Ferman. Using the excuse to check one of his patient’s waist measurement, the freaky doctor decided that the woman was suffering from water retention and offered to help her release it by massaging her hips.
Hold up, so you mean to tell me that the 64-year-old doctor was that hard up for some sex he started taking advantage of his poor overweight patients. That’s a dayum shame! I hope he gets the punishment that he truly deserves for this disgusting criminal offense. My suggestion for his punishment: turn him into someone’s toss-the-salad man in a prison cell for at least 6 years to think about what he did wrong. That’s a year per patient! Sounds fair to me…Dr. Freaky-Deaky meet Big Baby Bubba!!!!
Editor’s note: If you’re confused about what tossing the salad means when it comes to humans click here…Tossing the Salad

Everywhere I turn, it seems parents getting involved in bullying acts is being discussed. With all of the bullying buzz around me, I had no choice but to drop this discussion for my readers.
Parents, what would you do if teenagers came to your house and demanded to fight your child? Would you:
a) stop the fight
b)encourage them to fight your child one on one
c)allow the fight to happen and be recorded while offering boxing corner type of encouragement such as “punch his eyes out…slam his head on the ground.”
In the case of Mr. Phillip Struthers, he decided to go for option C….and of course the video hit the airwaves soon thereafter. Feeling some kind of way about his actions, the Florida father who’s now charged with child abuse decided to come on Good Morning America and explain his rationale.
He provided the GMA crew with the following explanation: “I apologize for what I said but I do stand behind protecting my son…When I see that video too, I’m just as disgusted at the things I said. What everybody doesn’t know is what transpired six months prior to that…threats to my son, vulgar… comments said on Facebook and other social media sites.”
Being a parent of a teenager, I too have helped him deal with some rather tough situations. Fortunately, the schools he attended had a no-tolerance bullying policy and handled things very quickly and appropriately. However, I’ve never been caught on video tape encouraging my son to slam someone’s head in the ground. In the case of the Florida family, they opted to bypass handling this issue with the school and decided to take things in their own hands. Not sure how a fight club scene on their lawn became the corrective action, but hey that’s what they did to resolve the issue.
I’m all about protecting our children from harm, but there are some things that parents just shouldn’t do. I definitely think the only reason the Florida dad is regretting his decision is because he saw how disgusting his behavior appeared on camera. As a great friend of mine says all the time, you don’t know you look until your picture gets took!

While listening to my favorite Ice Cream Conversationalists, MrsXaviB and MrsKarlaB, last Friday on their IceCreamConvos Show, I was made aware that Tyrese Gibson was once again flapping his mouth on some more foolery. Now, don’t get Dee wrong I’m a fan of Tyrese and his talents. But his views on relationships, nah Not so Much! I really wish he would stick to killing decepticons and singing harmonies.
However, like Steve Harvey, Mr. Gibson has decided to write a relationship book and tell the world what we are doing wrong in our relationships and what we should do to change our behaviors. *whispers did I tell y’all Tyrese couldn’t win a spelling bee if him and Fantasia were the only ones in it?*
Putting that ignorance aside, let’s dive in on the topic he dropped on the Wendy Williams Show after you take a sneak-peek at his interview.
ARE MEN EXPECTED TO CHEAT BECAUSE OF THEIR UPBRINGING?: A DIVADEE REVIEW
Women always go into a relationship thinking they have found the ‘perfect’ one. But, when men decide to burst their perfection bubble and cheat on them, women become more forgiving than most men and accept them back. That may be one of the reasons men feel they can cheat? (Just a thought!)
We all have the one girlfriend that goes for the bad boy! You know the one that is fighting other girls in public forums because her man shaboinked her and now she’s mad! Did it ever occur to the young ladies fighting over Mr. Lover Man that maybe she should be addressing the issue with him and not the ‘other woman’. I mean HE made the committment to you not her!
A lot of men may have seen their mother, aunties and sisters get cheated on by their father, uncles or husbands and seem to have a SUCCESSFUL relationship. However, there are a lot of men who have seen their mother, aunties and sisters get treated with much respect and love by their father, uncles or husbands and are the biggest cheaters on earth. My point: everyone treats their relationship individually. Don’t try to attach the horse to the cart just because they are expected to pull it!
At the end of the day, if a man cheats on a woman, it’s because they wanted to. Something in their nature said I’m going to be selfish in this moment and have no respect or regard for what I may lose by committing this selfish act. Yes, another case of the little head thinking for the big head moment! The key is for women to stop trying to justify the cheat and make excuses for men’s behavior. There’s nothing worse than explaining to your children why daddy has a girlfriend!
Let me know your thoughts on this by dropping me a line or two. Dee is always ready to discuss!
Blowing up all over the blog world is a story that has saddened me as a parent, child of God and a human being. It appears that domestic violence has merged with technology and created a situation that no one could begin to imagine.
28-year-old Gabriel Armandariz decided that if his ex-girlfriend didn’t want him then she wouldn’t have their children as well. He made sure of this by killing her 8-month-old and two-year-old and then texted her the pictures of their dead bodies. Last Wednesday the Texas man sent a photo to the woman’s phone which shows 2-year-old Gatlin and 8-month-old Luke sitting on a bed. Another shows Armandariz lying on a bed with a child on either side of him. Under that photo is the message, “We love u goodbye.” The next day he sent her a horrific message with a photo showing their infant and toddler sons with a “goodbye” message and then a graphic photo that appeared to show the baby dead.
Hours later, the police confirmed that the children were actually dead and the ex-boyfriend is currently being held on a $1.5 million bond.
Please keep the mother in prayer. I can only imagine the pain she is going through in processing these life-changing events!
Children can be the most honest people on earth when identifying human flaws. We’ve all had the baby cousin who’s told an older aunt, ‘oooh your breath stinks!’ But when going into parenthood did you think you’d have to go so far as to get plastic surgery to correct physical flaws for your elementary-age child to prevent bullying?
During Good Morning America’s all-things-plastic-surgery Thursday, 7-year-old Samantha Shaw of South Dakota shared her story of how she heard comments by adults in reference to her physical flaws. In response, her parents decided to get her plastic surgery before the bullying began. They felt that the surgery was more ‘preventative’ than anything.
Per the Huffingtonpost.com article, “The number of teens and children getting plastic surgery has gone up 30 percent over the last decade…”
Now, I’m all for protecting our babies but I’m not sure if I’d let my 7-year-old get surgery to protect them from bullying that has never occurred. Nor, do I think I’d let them get plastic surgery if the bullying actually occurred. I mean are there no Karate Classes available in South Dakota?
