40 years ago, the heavens opened up and gave us the man who would change the hip-hop game forever! Tupac Amaru Shakur was born June 16, 1971. And if his life hadn’t been disrupted at the tender age of 25, he would have celebrated forty years on this earth today.
In his young rapping career, he was able to sell 75 million albums worldwide making him one of the best-selling music artists in the world. Hip-hop heads continue to have the Biggie versus Tupac debate expressing their thoughts on which one of the great rappers is the best lyricists in the rap world to date.
Diva Dee’s Opinion: Tupac wins hands down!!!
Prior to his death, he was starting to take his career to another level by acting in movies such as Juice and Poetic Justice with Janet Jackson co-starring as his love interest.
The world of hip-hop will never be the same and continues to lack the depth of lyrical content that rappers such as Tupac gave its listeners. If you have ever taken a moment and stared into Tupac Shakur’s deep-round eyes, it feels like you could see right through his soul. He was always passionate about life, his music and his beliefs.
Happy 40th Birthday Tupac! You are definitely a young man whose legacy will always stay relevant to your craft!
